Characterization of Specialty Coffee

     


Pitacoffee have launched its program of technical assistance to the farmers.  We’ve contacted with one of the best firms in the region of Pitalito in the subject of Special Coffees.  We have the farmers (18 actually) that will be participating in this Program of Profiling the Coffee and the Farm called “CHARACTERIZATION OF SPECIALTY COFFEE”, which will last for six months.  The first phase has begun which is the visit to the farms in order to perform a Diagnostic examination of the soil, trees, water channels, samples will be taken.  In other words an inspection of all of their processes.  That would be in the month of May.

Our team of experts will evaluate each farm’s practices and will meet with each farmer individually.  He will explain what they can do to improve and/or upgrade their farming practices to ensure the best quality of their green bean for exportation.

We are devoted to helping these farmers in each step of the process to where they understand what it is to meet the demands of the highest expected specialty green bean possible.  When we find through the profiling of the green bean to the cup is exceptional we will send you some samples immediately. 
At the end of the program, which would be November, it’s when we get our main harvest over here, so we’re hoping to be ready for the demanding market of special coffees.
